System Info :
Wine version : 3.12 staging
I use the lastest version of DXVK (0.62) to be able to run DX11 games.
I use HP Probook 450 G1 (Intel I5 4200M | AMD HD 8750M | Realtek internal sound card)
When I open some games like Battlefield 1, the sound is distorted like it is like Batman voice running at 3X speed.
I tried alot of tweaks from this link >>> https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pu ... leshooting
but I didn't find any fix for the sound problem.
I had sound issues also with games like Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux, but I could hear the voices but with noises at the background, but I am using the native version now and it doesn't have any sound issues.
Sound issues with Wine 3.12
Re: Sound issues with Wine 3.12
@torbido
DXVK is a third party project, and as such is not supported on the WineHQ site.
I'm presuming Battlefield 1 doesn't work under vanilla Wine Staging 3.12??!!
You'll probably need to file an issue on: Github: doitsujin / dxvk Issues.
I presume you've followed: Github: doitsujin / dxvk Wiki: Driver Support.
DXVK bugs can and does lead to audio issues (despite it only being a drop-in graphics translation layer).
E.g. Deus Ex: HR has a scripted events that don't trigger (on an older version of DXVK I tested on my system).
So I experienced multiple sounds loops with in-game audio.
These loops didn't occur with Wine Staging+Wine PBA, not using DXVK.

Ok, thanks. I reported a bug in DXVK repository.

Since you didn't get a very helpful response from Philip...
- Could you try DXVK with this performance limiting patch: dxvk-wait-post-present.patch.txt.
See: Github: doitsujin / dxvk
Issues: Too many freezes #433 ; for the context of this patch.
Does limiting frame-limiting DXVK help re-synchronise the sound frequency?
Especially during in-game menus, the FPS can potentially get very high... - Can you also post a Wine terminal log... See: WineHQ FAQ: 10.1.1 How can I get a debugging log (a.k.a. terminal output)?
Plus the DXVK log files (*_d3d11.log / *_dxgi.log), which should be in the same directory as the main game executable or game manager (whichever way you start the game).
Please use a pastebin-type site for these logs.

Re: Sound issues with Wine 3.12
I guess this issue was related to Pulseaudio.
Starting the game with "PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60" fixed the sound issue.

Re: Sound issues with Wine 3.12
Ahhh, that's useful to know since I've only seen that env variable used to fix garbled sounding in-ame audio channels.torbido wrote:I guess this issue was related to Pulseaudio.

Would you be able to test Andrew Eikum's patch (the latest version) from Bug 28282 - Sound constantly crackling in lot of games.
Sounds (pun intended ) like your audio issue could be closely related...

Yeah, this topic sum up a lot of the solutions I have tried. Thanks Bob.
