unable to 'make clean' from wine-2.19 onwards (winemp3.acm)

When I execute 'make clean' in ~/wine64, I get
make: *** No rule to make target '/home/XXX/git/wine/dlls/winemp3.acm/Makefile.in', needed by 'Makefile'. Stop.

'make clean' works for wine-2.14, .15, .16, .18
'make clean' fails for wine-2.19, .20, .21, .22, wine-3.0-rc1, latest 'master' 8686448 "dbghelp: Map SIMD dwarf registers on ARM64"
Tried wine-2.18 again and it worked.

I had not updated wine source for about 11 months, and decided to bring it up-to-date. I then worked out at which point it broke.
There may or may not be other issues; that 'make clean' failed (only step undertaken) seemed a fundamental one.
I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, 64 bit, AMD A10-4600M

Any help would be appreciated.

My guess would be this is related to the fact that winemp3.acm was renamed l3codeca.acm in 2.19.

Try running make distclean.
