How do I install the sims 3 on Ubuntu with no CD drive?
How do I install the sims 3 on Ubuntu with no CD drive?
I have HP laptop running Ubuntu 16.04. I've been trying to install The Sims 3 but have had no luck. The laptop I have dosn't have a CD rom drive but since I had the game on an old laptop using my origin account the game saved the game to my origin library so I can still download the game from origin without needing the CD. However when I download origin and the sims 3 using PlayOnLinux and Wine I just can't run the sims. If I click play in the origin library nothing happens and if I try to directly load it by using the TS3W.exe file it just gives me an error and tells me to re-install the base game. Please help.

You offering me a pay rise then?
Either:
- Use an external USB drive with your install media
- Follow the WineHQ AppDB instructions for setting up the Origin Client

It is no problem to mount ISO image files within in the filesystem and then assign a Windows Drive to that.
E.g. as root/sudo
mount -o loop this_is_your files.iso /media/isoimage
External USB CD ROM Drives are cheap on ebay.
