I am trying to get Teaching Textbooks running on my friend's Linux pc. It runs Debian stretch 9.3, with cinnamon desktop. And yes, wine is installed along with wine mono and wine gecko. Every time I launched the program, I got an error:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library
Runtime Error! This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
I tried to install the Visual C++ 2015 and 2013 redistributable, but Microsoft is no longer offering it, so I installed the 2010 instead. I installed both the 64-bit version and the 32-bit. However, I still receive the error.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Use winetricks to install whatever version of vcrun the app needs. https://wiki.winehq.org/Winetricks

Make sure you're running the latest version of wine. Also, can you provide a log?
