wanting to run Mfi (Ubiquity) in Wine on Linux distros, Open

Post by zeb »

Can any one simply run me through step by step how to successfully get the Mfi controller by Ubiquity to run on Wine. Ive tried on Opensuse and on Ubuntu. I want to get off of an actual windows system, i cant stand the auto updates. I cannot figure how to install Mfi on Linux, and now seem close but cannot figure how to get the Mfi on windows to run. Any one know what to do. I am not experienced in this.
Thanx!

Is this the thing you're talking about? https://dl.ubnt.com/guides/mfi/mFi_User ... -25-12.pdf

If so, the user guide says:
The mFi Controller software can run on a computer that meets the following minimum requirements:
• Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Mac OS X, or Ubuntu Linux version 11.04. 64‑Bit Operating System Recommended (32‑Bit only supports 2 GB
Database)
• 2 GB RAM is highly recommended
• Java Runtime Environment 1.6 (1.6.0_26 or above recommended)
So I don't think you need Wine at all, as it seems to be a Java application. As to how to get it to work on your system, that's really something you should ask on Ubiquiti's mFi forum.
