Hi there,
I downloaded 6 free games from free giveaway below.

However, two of their games have the downloaded file name as "CrescentBay_1.0.4_x64.exe" and "THORN_1.0.4_x64.exe". Now, I have been playing games for nearly a decade, and this is the first time I see this "x64" on the file names. I have been using linux and WINE for nearly a decade as well.
My question to you is they should work for WINE32 correct? I would hardly believe the free games are in x64.
Thanks.
WINE 64 or WINE 32?
Re: WINE 64 or WINE 32?
If the games are 64 bit, you will need 64 bit Wine to run them. In a proper WoW64 setup, you should simply be able to run the wine command and not have to specify wine64.
64 bit Windows executables are becoming more common. I've seen x64 in many file names.

Thank you so much. Per your suggestion, I will try WINE 64. I have nearly 200 games on PC, and these two are the only ones with "x64" in the name.dimesio wrote:If the games are 64 bit, you will need 64 bit Wine to run them. Now, that WINE 3.0 is around the corner, do you think we have a better chance to install 32 Bit games straight on to WINE 64? In the past, what I have done is installing 32 Bit games on WINE 32. If there is 64 Bit game, then, I would need to use WINE 64.dimesio wrote:If the games are 64 bit, you will need 64 bit Wine to run them. Do you think WINE 3.0 would move to that direction?

If you're asking whether you'll be able to run 32 bit apps without installing 32 bit libraries, the answer is no. However, a proper 64 bit Wine install should include the needed 32 bit parts in a shared WoW64 setup. https://wiki.winehq.org/Building_Wine#Shared_WoW64
