Wine 1.4 to latest update

Hello. I have Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS. Installed wine using „sudo apt-get install wine”. When I use "dpkg" I see that I have Wine 1.4, how can I update it to the latest version? I downloaded packages before instalation but it doesn't work. Could anyone help me? I'm newbie on linux... Please tell me step by step what to do. Thanx

If 12.04 isn't a typo, you need to upgrade Ubuntu before you do anything else. 12.04 went EOL last April. WineHQ doesn't build packages for it and I doubt anyone else is either.
