I was wondering if any body ever tried installing soda player under wine/ubuntu?
Thanks

Doesn't work yet, runs into https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40613 and then into https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42701.

Re: soda player
Thanks for your reply. I heard very good things about soda player, it would be nice if there would be a linux native version.

Video player support under Wine is, at present, very poor... I don't believe it's a developer priority issue either...danielsender wrote:Thanks for your reply. I heard very good things about soda player, it would be nice if there would be a linux native version.
Checkout: mpv - if you haven't already...
My config is just:
Code: Select all
~/.config/mpv/mpv.conf
hwdec=vdpau
save-position-on-quit=yes
It even claims to have lip-sink (audio/video synchronisation heuristics).
VLC, et al have been consigned to the trashcan of redundancy on my system...
Native is always best. Wine is for the rest...
