Access denied

Post by tandaradei »

Hi, im trying to install MS Office 2010. I have a mounted iso image, and am running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS 64bit. My wine version is 2.0.3.

If i go with install through wine on the context menu I get Access denied.
Going through the command line (I start the terminal in the installation folder) with 'wine setup exe' gives me this:

wine: Bad EXE format for Z:\run\user\1000\gvfs\archive:host=file%253A%252F%252F%252Fhome%252Fmariusz%252FDownloads%252FMicrosoft%252520Office%2525202010%252520Excel%252520x86%25252032bit.iso\setup.exe.

I tried creating a 32 bit wineprefix with WINEARCH=win32, but didn't help. The command WINEPREFIX=/home/mariusz/.wine.office wine start setup.exe produces this:

fixme:exec:SHELL_execute flags ignored: 0x00000100
Application could not be started, or no application associated with the specified file.
ShellExecuteEx failed: Access denied.

The installer won't work from a mounted iso. Either use the real cd or copy its contents to a folder on your hard drive.

FYI, the Office 2010 installer doesn't work in current Wine due to bug 44036. I don't think the problem patch was backported to the stable branch, but if you decide to try a development or staging release. make it 2.17 or older.
