The default wineprefix is not created until you run Wine the first time. Note that .wine is a hidden folder, so to see it you will have to set your file manager to show hidden files.
Also in my menu there is no menu entries for wine?
Wine does not create menu entries for its builtin programs. Winemenubuilder will create menu items when install something in Wine (if the installer creates start menu items in Windows).

A WINEPREFIX is only created when actually run wineserver or a Windows application with wine.
Running:

Code: Select all

wineboot -u
Will create the default WINEPREFIX for you.

These aren't supplied by the WineHQ packages.
You can get hold of a tarball of the icons and desktop integration files quite easily however.
