How to troubleshoot network issues

Post by HKramer »

Hi,

I want to run a windows app .NET from Advantech called AdamApax.NET Util.

On my desktop system running Fedora 25, this app see all my subnets. However,
on my laptop with a practically identical Fedora 25 installation (and even with a Linux Mint install)
it does not see my subnets, instead it only lists 127.0.0.1 (and this while this is not listed on the working system).

I used crossover office and I copied the whole bottle over, however, even this did not change the situation.
Running cmd and executing ipconfig /all gives on both system sane answers.

The .686 rpms are all identical.

How can I trouble shoot this issue????

I think I found the difference:

One system is booted in EFI mode and one in BIOS mode.

The BIOS mode one shows the various subnets (I will later attach pictures) while the EFI mode install only find 127.0.0.1 (localhost subnet)

It is a .NET 2.0 application and asked the people that wrote it to give me info on how they determine the network subnets. Perhaps we can get some more info out of that.

Thanks
