[Broken UI] Wine+MS-Office2010+Arch

Post by pingo »

Hi,

I was having wonderful experience on subject combination until I decided install Cubes OS. Didn't like it and decided to revert back to Arch. Reinstalled Wine and completed setup of Microsoft Office 2010 (MSO).

For some reason, MSO has been acting weird with broken UI. Besides being slow, UI is almost broken (see screens attached).

Based on output in terminal, I tried to install gdiplus via winetricks and a few optional deps for Wine like mpg123 etc (i.e. things that I never needed in previous setup) but this broken UI thing is not coming to an end.

Appreciate if anyone can help. Thanks!

When you reinstalled Office, did you follow the instructions in the AppDB? Specifically, was the install to a 32 bit clean wineprefix with the Windows version set to XP? After installing, did you set the required override for riched20?

dimesio: winxp
It was clean win32 prefix, riched20 but somehow skipped WinXP and ended up with Win7.

Silly me fixed it now, thanks!
