Wine 2.0 RC4 with MS Office 2010 Pro problems

For now I have installed MS Office Professional Plus 2007, and updated it with Service pack 1, 2 and 3. That all worked without any problems.

So for now I have a working MS Office, of course I will keep trying to install MS Office 2010 - but the urgency is less important.

It could be a packaging issue. You just reminded me of https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35413. That's not the same problem--the error message was different--but it was caused by Fedora building wine-mono themselves instead of packaging the WineHQ .msi. It's possible this is another problem caused by their unofficial build. ...

I took another look @ the wine-mon.spec (RPM spec file):

So yes... They're downloading the wine-mono source tar ball, messing about with it and then building it!!
Why for the love of god would they bother to do this?

At the moment I’m installing Fedora 25 86_x64 with the help of VMware Workstation 12.5.2. I will try to keep Fedora as virgin as possible and install Wine Staging 2.0 RC4 from the repro... Just to see if it works...

In the fresh Fedora 25 x64 install, MS Word 2010 from MS Office Professional Plus 2010 crashes at the same time as it did on my computer... So it's clearly something wrong with Fedora 25 in regard with installing MS Office 2010 with Wine Staging 2.0 RC4...

I chat with in the last few days with a lot of people. And some apparently work or are directly related to the Fedora project.

What I figured out is that the Fedora project is actively disabling the ability of running supported Microsoft software with the help of a project like Wine….

Microsoft and Fedora signed a contract of which not all details are disclosed, most assumed it involved Secure Boot….

Is Fedora just a Microsoft Bitch? It surely looks like as they the only distribution that cannot run MS Office 2010….
