Hi,
I'm impressed with Wine. It has been working very well in testing some Delphi gui written software.
Is there a way to "automate" the pressing of buttons and entering text on certain dialog boxes that appear from the application being run?
This will save me heaps of time.
I've been through the wineserver debugs, and can see a few entries, but I have no idea how to turn that into controlling the app.
Thanks, Graham
Is it possible to automate pressing dialog boxes?
Re: Is it possible to automate pressing dialog boxes?
AutoHotkey is reported to work in Wine. https://www.autohotkey.com/

I can also recommend trying AutoIt ... When I was using Windows - this utility was great for making automated installers, etc. See WineHQ AppDB : AutoIt ... It's similar in nature to AutoHotkey.
The xdo (native Linux utility) has been reported to not well with applications running under Wine. You could give it shot - but if recall correctly there may be problems sending keyboard commands to windows (certainly you can't focus minimised windows for example).

Re: Is it possible to automate pressing dialog boxes?
Thank you all for your ideas. I'm now putting them (and my lack of skill) through their paces.
Notes:
AutoHotkey version 1.1.24.03 doesn't install properly on wine. "Can't load icon".
Seems to be an installer issue. I have found that once installed on a win box, I'm able to copy the installed software onto wine, and it seems to start okay.
currently testing.
Autoit Installed okay.
currently testing.

Unsure yet if the difference approach will be helpful to me or not.
currently testing.
Thanks, Graham
