Is there an actual problem with the program? If there is, please explain it, and post the full terminal output. If not, don't worry about what's in the console.

The errors comes from TomTom\ MyDrive\ Connect.exe but the Installer is ok.

Getting better

Post by dhm »

Wine is getting closer to a solution I guess. I compiled Wine 2.0 (Jan 24'17 edition) and had no problem with InstallMyDriveConnect.exe (Jan 19'17 version) but TomTom MyDrive Connect.exe gave me this:

Code: Select all

fixme:iphlpapi:NotifyAddrChange (Handle (nil), overlapped (nil)): stub
fixme:iphlpapi:NotifyAddrChange (Handle (nil), overlapped (nil)): stub
fixme:iphlpapi:NotifyAddrChange (Handle (nil), overlapped (nil)): stub
fixme:iphlpapi:NotifyAddrChange (Handle (nil), overlapped (nil)): stub
...The above was locked in a loop. I used Ctrl-C and got:

Code: Select all

^Cfixme:console:CONSOLE_DefaultHandler Terminating process 8 on event 0
fixme:iphlpapi:NotifyAddrChange (Handle (nil), overlapped (nil)): stub
fixme:msvcrt:__clean_type_info_names_internal (0x14029dc) stub
fixme:msvcrt:__clean_type_info_names_internal (0x13b50e0) stub
fixme:msvcrt:__clean_type_info_names_internal (0x13ab97c) stub
fixme:msvcrt:__clean_type_info_names_internal (0x135547c) stub
fixme:msvcrt:__clean_type_info_names_internal (0x134540c) stub
... So as not to try your patience I have not included the rest of the hex locations.

Are there workarounds yet?

TomTom ought to send you a few bucks to complete this. From viewing their forum they've had 5 years of unhappy customers who do not like their support department's answer to find a computer with Windows on it. It would extend their product's customer base.

One angry customer said he'd buy some other brand. Ha, ha! While TomTom's update program will run on Windows XP, Garmin's requires a minimum of Windows 7 and since the Asian off-brands use Windows CE as the OS inside the device, I doubt they have a Linux version.

I want to keep at this.
