new install and ms sql native client

Post by MrWeb »

Hi @ all,
i hope someone can help me.
I want to run a special windows app with wine in linux.
I setup a maschine with debian 1.8.5 i386 and installed wine 1.6.2-20
Also i installed with winetricks vb6run mdac28 msxml4 mfc42 jet40 native_oleaut32
Also i have made the overrides for the odbc dll's so the native ones are used.

As user i setup the wine config and installed the ms sql native 10 client
needed by that app. i can see in wine control -> odbc the new driver,
but if i want to create a new dsn, wine crash's....

The app is running, but i can not connect to the ms sql server.
Can someone give me a tipp how to setup, so that i can use the
ms sql native 10 client ? (MS SQL Server 2008 R2 on windows server side)

Best refards,

Start by upgrading Wine; 1.6.2 is over two years old and no longer supported. Use the WineHQ packages. https://wiki.winehq.org/Debian
