Searching doesn't seem to give an answer to this question: Is it possible to install updates to applications used in Wine?
E.g., I have a disk for MS Office 2007. I'd like to install it in Wine, but I'd like to get the security and other updates also. Given my understanding of Wine, it's not clear to me how that would be done.
Is it possible? If so, how would one do it?
Thanks.
Updating applications in Wine
Re: Updating applications in Wine
Install Office 2007, then download and install Office 2007 Service Pack 3.
Re: Updating applications in Wine
Good, thanks. I hadn't thought Service Pack.
The broader question, though, is whether it's possible to do the automatic updates that some windows apps do (Office, but also, e.g, TurboTax) from within the app. Do those work under Wine?

Re: Updating applications in Wine
Some do, some don't. If they do update successfully, there's always the risk that the new version won't work in Wine.
