Connect Systems Inc. Radio Programming

Post by KB0OLF »

Trying to use a windows program from www.connectsystems.com to program a handheld radio. It connects to the computer via a speaker mic plug on the radio and USB. It is NOT doing USB to Serial conversion. When I plug the radio in to the computer, it shows up as a USB storage device from STM Micro on /dev/sdb. I don't know exactly HOW the software communicates with the radio to read and write programming data and firmware. In disk manager it shows up as microSD reader with no media. There are no SD card slots on the radio and is just a means to access the internal memory. No drivers install in Windows when I plug the radio in, their software specifically state that no drivers are needed.

Is anyone familiar with this software and can anyone think of a way to get this software to communicate with the radio? I already tried setting a drive letter to /dev/sdb in winecfg.
