Hello Everyone. I'm new. I was searching for topic about gothic II but didn't find any.
Yesterday i tried to install GII Gold, and it was kind of ok... I even watched the intro and started a game, but while starting. it crashed...
I was installing it with one 'how-to' guide. and in fact i skipped one step, because i couldn't find it.
The guide says that i have to type winecfg in terminal, go to audio bar and change this:
ALSA driver= checked (Leave all else unchecked)
Hardware acceleration= Emulation
Default sample rate= 22050
Default bits per sample= 16
but the problem is, that i don't have those options in audio bar in winecfg. (or more likely, because this is my first linux, i don't know where to find it)
im adding screenshot of my winecfg, and a backtrace from crash.

Re: Gothic II Gold Problem
The howto you followed must be very old, as those options were removed from winecfg years ago. You can still set them in the registry if you really need to. http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys
Based on the backtrace, try native dmime. You might also want to try a 32 bit wineprefix.

The thing is... I don't even know what you are talking about... ;x this is my first linux... and I have no clue where to change things...
Re: Gothic II Gold Problem
That's why I gave you a link to the instructions. However, I doubt you have to make those changes. The AppDB howto doesn't mention them at all. It does mention some needed overrides, so you should try that. https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. ... n&iId=5023
