Dual Graphics Noobie Questions

Post by doublez13 »

Hi all!
I've been running Linux forever and I'm finally ready to give up my last Windows machine that I use for gaming. Lately I've been getting my Windows games set up with Wine, and most of them are running real smooth! On my laptop I have a dual graphics setup. I have the AMD discrete GPU, and the crappy Intel one. I use the open source AMD driver and not the fglrx one since I dont get the best battery life with it.

How do I know for sure that the games are being rendered on the discrete GPU on and not the Intel?
I've read that I need 32 bit graphics libraries. Can I get a little explanation on this. I've always thought 64 bit drivers could run 32 bit software.
Everything seems pretty smooth with the games Ive tested. Does this mean that everythings configured right and that I'm taking full advantage of the discrete card?

Thanks everyone.
