FFB not working under wine with Logitech wheel G27

Post by Cookie »

Help needed to do the final step to Linux!

Mint is my favourite OS and it does all I need,
exept I can't drive GrandPrixLegends (historic race cars) with it because forcefeedback is not working.

Linux Mint 17.1 + latest Wine runs GrandPrixLegends perfect under OGLV2 with 60fps and 19 AI.
Specs: Phenom II X3@ 3800, XFX ATI HD6870 2GB DDR5 @925core/1100VRAM, 4GB DDR3@1333

The Logi wheels are integrated and working in the Linux kernel out of the Box!
All steering and pedals and buttons work excellent under wine
The only downside:
FFB is active until you push the green button in GrandPrixLegends to join the race, then it is suddenly gone...

I would give you any info needed to make it work.
In the SimRacingMirrorZone forum (SRMZ.net) there are some guys waiting for it too.
Steam and IRacing are going to run with Linux so a solution is needed soon.

Cheers

Now I found that in the "wine control" joystick section I have 2x G27 racing wheel 1x (js) and 1x (event)

If I choose "event" the FFB gets lost but all axis are supported,
if I take "js" the FFB is still there but the axis of throttle and brake and clutch get lost...

Is there a way to configure this?

SUCCESS! THANKS!

I saw the release note of wine 1.1.19 and installed it!

Perfect support of FFB in GPL with OGL and 60fps.

Only downside is the missing proprietary AMD driver in the new kernel,
so I had to take 13.9 to suit my Radeon HD6870 GPU wit the fglrx drivers.

Cheers
