Game Window Resizes

When I start Wine on Linux Ubuntu, the desktop looks fine and is full screen but then when it launches a game it resizes to being much smaller even though I'm running the application off the standard settings I have for the desktop. Also there are no maximize windows on the Wine application so I cannot solve it that way.

Wine version? If it's not the latest development release, upgrade. If this is happening in current Wine, post terminal output.

What graphics card/driver are you using, and what game is this?
