skyrim broken surround sound - wine 1.7.39

Post by melancholy »

hi, I recently decided to play skyrim and installed the game just fine. Now the problem I have is that whenever I speak to NPCs, I cannot hear them unless I turn my side to them. There's basically no sound up front and behind me.
I checked winecfg, all possible devices are set to stereo (as mentioned in this bugzilla, post 19)

Anyone got a workaround for this?
I'm using gentoo x64 with alsa...

ok, so I created a new wine prefix and reinstalled skyrim from scratch, this problem is still there - no sound from front or back.
I double checked the audio settings in winecfg and everythings set to stereo.

I guess I have to file a bug now....
