Winetricks not Starting

After downloading and installing winetricks I tried to start it in a terminal with the following result:

helmut@helmut-Presario-C500-RQ337UA-ABA ~ $ sh winetricks
------------------------------------------------------
wine cmd.exe /c echo '%ProgramFiles%' returned a string containing the word 'unknown', as if a voice had cried out in terror, and was suddenly silenced.
------------------------------------------------------
helmut@helmut-Presario-C500-RQ337UA-ABA ~ $

Perhaps something is wrong in the Installation of Wine??
