Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion where is .ini?

Post by Acharn »

I've been trying to get The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion set up. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04, wine 1.5.28, and an ATI Radeon HD 6670 graphics card. I get up to the frame that says so one has escaped from this prison since... and it just stops. I've been trying all the things recommended, but I was just reading through the Readme.txt in he game directory. It recommends some modifications to the oblivion.ini file, which is supposed to be in the My Documents\My Games\Oblivion directory. Since I'm running Linux I don't have that directory, of course, but when I search for the file I don't find an oblivion.ini anywhere. Is there supposed to be one? If so where is wine supposed to put it? There is a Oblivion_default.ini in the game directory, but I'm sure that's not the one they're talking about.

Wine by default points My Documents to your home directory. Look for a My Games/Oblivion directory there.
