wine wont install correctly

hello,ive been trying to get wine to work so i can run windows programs but it wont work when try to download from software center it says this (This error could be caused by required additional software packages which are missing or not installable. Furthermore there could be a conflict between software packages which are not allowed to be installed at the same time.) so i tried a differnt way using the terminal and i get this (The following packages have unmet dependencies:
wine : Depends: wine1.4 but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.)
and i really dont know what to do can someone help thnx

That's a packaging/package manager problem. Ask on your distro's support forum.
