I've just installed Photoshop CS2 through Wine (version1.5.22 on Linux Mint Maya, 64bit Cinnamon) and it works fine except for some smaller issues:
- the open image window is quite small and only has a button for closing (top right corner where minimize and maximize should also be). Saving the workspace with the the window manually enlarged doesn't help, also Ctrl + 0 only brings it to the same small size (in PS7 it used to make the window fit the screen).
- Adobe Bridge regularly stops working, clicking elsewhere and returning to it helps but it's rather tedious.
I would appreciate help in solving these problems. Thank you.
Issues with Photoshop CS2
Re: Issues with Photoshop CS2
Sounds like http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20996. The bug report hasn't been updated in awhile; you should add a comment that this is still an issue in 1.5.22.evut wrote:Saving the workspace with the the window manually enlarged doesn't help, also Ctrl + 0 only brings it to the same small size (in PS7 it used to make the window fit the screen).
What exactly "stops working"? Possibly related to http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15111. If that bug sounds like what you're experiencing, please leave a comment there that this is still an issue in 1.5.22.- Adobe Bridge regularly stops working, clicking elsewhere and returning to it helps but it's rather tedious.
Re: Issues with Photoshop CS2
The first problem with window size is different from the linked bug http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20996 It can be fixed by maximizing whole Photoshop or using the default workspace, so not an problem anymore.
The issue with Bridge is that once you've looked into several folders, clicking stops working (nothing happens when you do), once this starts happening, clicking on another window and coming back to Bridge makes it work but only for one click each time. So different issue than the bug http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15111 although the problem described here with tools is still happening. I left a note in the bug report.
Another thing: I noticed that minimizing Photoshop or switching to another application doesn't work properly - palettes from PS stay up over other windows, then don't open when you return to PS, and often the open image window goes missing. The way to bring everything back to normal is to go to Window and select the Default workspace again, which brings back the palettes, and to get the image window back you have to maximize whole PS. I didn't find this as a known bug. It's just irritating and can be worked with...but any ideas? Thanks.

File a bug for that.evut wrote: The issue with Bridge is that once you've looked into several folders, clicking stops working (nothing happens when you do), once this starts happening, clicking on another window and coming back to Bridge makes it work but only for one click each time.
Sounds like either http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26458 or http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23898.Another thing: I noticed that minimizing Photoshop or switching to another application doesn't work properly - palettes from PS stay up over other windows, then don't open when you return to PS, and often the open image window goes missing.
