How to run World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria on LInux Mint

Post by timo385 » Mon Dec 24, 2012 5:32 am

Hi,

I cant run WoW on LInux Mint 14 using latest Wine.

First, let me say I am a linux noob and don't know pretty much anything about it :).

Not to get into details I dont have a access to windows for next 5 weeks, and I want to play wow on this mint machine.

So here is the problem. First I copied WoW folder from Win to Linux machine into Home\Downloads dir.

Then i installed latest Whine version. Than I went into WoW dir and right click WoW Launcher and press "Open with Whine Windows Program Loader". After that nothing is happening. for latests 40 min there is WoW Launcher Window opened, sying Updating Blizzard Launcher and its just stuck like that.

Any solution?

Thank you in advance.

For Mint 14 I think you need the Wine 1.5 Beta. Just uninstall your current version and go to http://www.winehq.org/download/ubuntu and download it
