Having said that THANK YOU WINE for providing a way to get around this stupid patching problem!
I am a 100% novice on Linux, my hubby asked me to move to the platform & I have adapted, really like it actually and love using Wine for other apps. This WOW issue really threw me for a loop and my hubby (being the rockstar he is) wrote me detailed step by step novice instructions. These are posted on his blog if any one is interested.
