Funny font in IE8

Internet Explorer 8 displays every Webpage with an almost unreadable Font.

I've installed IE8 for Xp (32bit) with this guide. I also did winerticks crypt32 and disabled the search box as recomended in bugreport nr 29642. Display a page works, but the charset is very strange.

Outside howtos in general are not supported here, and the particular one you followed is good example why: it's for IE7, not IE8, and uses a version of Wine that is over three years old.

Delete the wineprefix and use winetricks to install IE8. You should also upgrade Wine; the current development release is 1.5.9.
