https not working in EI6

Post by ToddAndMargo »

Hi All,

Wine 1.5.3 in Fedora Core 15, 32 bit.

I installed Internet Explorer (IE) 6 with Wine Tricks. IE6 will run, but
it can not visit
any secure (https) sites, such as https://startpage.com.

Any idea how to get this to work?

Many thanks,
-T

Hi,

please run from command line and post terminal output. Latest wine version might be worth a try, too.

This seems to be a common and on-going problem. One solution that I've read is to copy crypt32.dll from a windows installation into your WINEPREFIX windows directory and setting the override to native for internet explorer:

The other common issue is the inability to import the SSL certificate, for which I haven't yet found a solution after some Googling.

Does 'winetricks crypt32' help?
