Newbie needs help with Game install

Post by HappyAndi »

First off, I am SUCH a newbie.
I have installed Wine 1.4 on Ubuntu 10.04.
I am trying to install Nancy Drew #26, Tomb of the Lost Queen.
I have tried installing from command line with the setup.exe command and also tried with the GUI. Both will bring up a window with the EULA and I agree and click "next". Looks like it's going to install, and then I get a window with the error "incorrect command line parameters".
What am I doing wrong, and/or what can I do to fix it?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Don't do that. People on the mailing list will have no idea what this is about.

Try the latest development release. If it still doesn't work, post console output. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log

First: This is not a pay service, but rather support provided by
either volunteers or other users and this does take time. Please be
patient.

Second: You are using a version of Wine that is getting 'stale' and we
would like for you to try using the latest development release.

Hi HappyAndi,

it's nice that you already mangaed to run your setup.exe from command line. You should see some fixme- and error-messages there, if the output isn't too long, you could post it here, else upload to pastebin and provide a link.
