winhttp 5.1

Hello Everyone ..

I am having trouble running a certain feature in an trading application. The error is related to the windows package Winhttp 5.1. Here is the link for that:

and here is the link for the error that receive on my linux machine .. standard ubuntu 10.04 32 bit .. 1GB RAM .. same results on wine 1.2.3 and wine 1.4 .. any input on getting this working will be greatly appreciated ..

Does 'winetricks winhttp' work around the problem?

What app is it?

i have that installed already .. I m using an app called metatrader 4 .. its a trading application ..

Read the Applications Database entry on MT4.

i did .. it does not give any information about winhttp related errors .. i have that app running on my machine for years .. this app utilized third party code bits that can be plugged into the application .. so ever since i plugged this new thrid party code, i have been getting that alert .. just an alert, the app works fine full 100% .. without that, the app works too ..

i just wanted some insight from the devs about how to proceed from the get winhttp 5.1 package .. google did not return any executable packs that i could try to get the winhttp 5.1 ..

I have tried placing the winhttp5.dll in the sys32 directory and registering it as well .. still nothing ..

Did you look for the third party applications in the database? If
not, I would create a sub-entry for the applications.

Try putting the dll in the program directory and see if the
application will run.

I could not find it in the third party list .. the thing is this third party is not a executable .. its in the format ex4 related to this application .. i placed the dll in the program directory .. still the same error .. to triple check, i even tested this in the windows box and it works flawlessly over there ..

I guess the force is strong on this one !

been searching for an executable version of winhttp5.1, could not get it .. i tried to modify that external code to use the default wininet DLL as opposed to the winhttp 5.1 .. that works .. hope it helps !!
