No audio drivers available

Post by Dolda2000 »

Dear Forum,

I just upgraded wine from 1.3 to 1.5, and I understand that the audio stack has been reworked. The new one doesn't seem to be working very well for me, though, and I can't figure out why. The Audio tab of winecfg simply says "Selected driver: (None)", without giving me a way to select a driver.

I interpret this as Wine not having found any audio on its host system (Debian Wheezy, AMD64, Linux 3.2), but in that case, why is that so? Audio works just fine for every purpose but Wine.

Does anyone know?

I managed to mess up, it seems. Somehow, I had managed to not install the ALSA driver package.

You may delete this thread at your option; sorry for the noise.
