Clearview RC Simulator under Wine

Post by hbaird »

I would like to run Clearview RC simulator,WIndows, under Wine. My system is Linux Fedora 20 with Wine-1.7.20. The basic presentation is fine but on all the Daughter panels text is blacked out. Some JPgs are visible and the mouse will work if I hit the right spot blind. I don't know Windows software well enough to understand what the problem is. The Clearview owner will not support Wine. The text on the frame of the presentation is fine. I tried Crossover and it works the same. Is this a waste of my time or can some one help get it running?

The AppDB test reports are all rather old, but no one mentions the problems you describe. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=5390

Post terminal output. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log

This is the data in Log.txt:

I believe the data is present on the drop down windows but it is mostly blacked out like the displays are not in sync.
Any help will be greatly apreciated.
Thank you,
Harold

[root@localhost clearview]# wine start clearview.cmd
Never run Wine as root. Delete the wineprefix and start over as a normal user. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#run_as_root

I am now running it from a Wine CLI and Wine Icons with the same results. The data is present in the pull down screens just blacked out. I have removed and reinstalled Wine with the same results. The pull down screens have all the data on them and will respond to mouse clicks. This is at least 99% working. Is there an app I can download that has pulldown menus for test? Did they Log.text file have any helpfull data? Is there another way to get diagnostic data? I have read reports that it worked in previous versions of Wine. Please help me.

Yes it is a Demo version until you buy it and get an activation code. I can't put the activation code in until I can use the pull down panels. I already own the software and I am moving it from an XP harddrive on this computer. I just deactivate it on the XP and activate it on the Fedora 20 Wine system when I get it working. Having to reboot over to Win Xp when I want to use the Sim is time consuming and even off line XP seems to find unwanted Software. The Sim is at least 99% functional, I can see the demo run fine 78FPS.

Can you post a screenshot of the problem? I downloaded the demo, and all the menus seem fine. Some items are marked deactivated because it's a demo, but I can read all the text. Nothing appears to be blacked out.

What Display manager are you using? I am running Cinammon. I will try Gnome later today.

I ran Gnome Desktop no change. I had to remove Cinnamon with Yum to get Gnome 3 desktop.
