Which version do you use?

Could you have a look here http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... on&iId=688 ,
please?

Could you also have a look in Bugzilla:
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10955
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10976

It looks like there are some bugs which have to be solved first.

FWIW, Palm Desktop 3.0.3 installs fine. It may be sufficient for older
Palms (I use it with a Vx).

Could you drop that when you post to the wine-users? If not then all your posts will have to be removed from the linked wine-forum as they do not have "intended recipient".

Often, the legal notices are automatically appended by whatever
office the sender works for. The Sender does not have the option
to drop the legal notice.

However, the sender could include a line of text that essentially
means "my post ends here. Anything following is an automatically
appended legal notice that can be ignored". The mailing list
software could then be configured to detect this line and
delete the offending text.

Is this possible?

That that "whatever" should not be used for public forums / mailing lists but in that "whatever" business related e-mail communications only. This applies to you as well. Please pick something that does not automatically insert that "statement", use public e-mail account if you must. Oh and btw, you should work at work :-) Or at least not use company equipment to work on any FOSS project. There are lots of nasty legal complications with that.

To not hijack the thread, henky, it appears your software tries to install drivers it needs to communicate with Palm. So far Wine does not support any real hardware drivers. No exceptions. Until that is implemented (at least to extent of supporting usb devices) your program will not do what it's meant to do - talk to Palm. Even if you somehow manage to install it. My suggestion - use native (Linux) program(s). If that doesn't work for you - use virtual machine to run windows just for these tasks.

At first i thought: wow, so many answers, there must be a solution :-)
... but then (nearly) all about legal notices ;-)

@ Rico: Thank you for your very quick reply! I use 4.1.4. PalmDesktop. As i can see in the AppDB this one isn't supported :-(
I use linux for only 5 weeks and therefore i don't think that i'm able to trick around that much...
@ vitamin: i think that is what i'm going to do. but i need the "categories" and j-pilot does't sync that feature :-( do you know a solution? ok this a wine forum, but you wrote that much about legal notes ;-) and i'm just asking...

Thank you
