I've removed the Z: drive, but now running wine msiexec /i wine-mono gsays it cannot open a working directory and doesn't run the msi.
Does z drive really need to be there for this to work?
Removed Z drive. Now cannot install wine-mono.

I've tried this with the msi in the drive_c directory. It also dies without opening any window.

Exiting silently is the normal behavior, the msi has no GUI. You can run "wine uninstaller" to check if it installed.
I'm surprised it couldn't install the msi without a mapped drive though. Maybe it needs an absolute path since the working directory is wrong?

You are correct ! It did install. My mistake ! I'll have to check whether other installations of software work.
