Thought Wine should see this...

Post by czerro »

So, I was testing out a build of the new wine-staging/Proton compiled for windows. It's called WineD3D for Windows, and the project can be found here:

I tested a really crazy broken game, Silent Hill:Homecoming. It freaking works. If you don't know anything about the history of this game, it requires like 36 hacks to work, but it works out of box perfectly on the wine libraries.

I informed the person that maintains the list of 36 hacks/executables about this, and they called me a liar, and said I was using code that was stolen from him. So you should probably address this.

He's edited the front page of his guide on Steam now to even have my name in it.

He is claiming that I support and perpetuate 'frauds'. That would be wine-staging/Proton and valve, as I've explained to him. He claims you 'frauds' have stolen code from him.

This might seem like small beans, but it's the number one guide regarding this game, and he is claiming your project is fraudulent and utilizes code stolen from him.

He doesn't know what WINE is, he doesn't know about Proton/wine-staging. He's a moron, but he is openly declaring you guys stole his code and it is THE MOST VIEWED thing in that forum.

He has also repackaged his project in an SGL format. I suspect he is infact using the WineD3DforWindows builds that I originally suggested, and is claiming it as his own code.

Your code.
