I'm trying to run a 64-bit .Net game Deadlight but when I try to run wine64 dotnetfx40_full_x86_x64.exe it just quits. When I run it with 32-bit wine, 32-bit .Net framework 4.0 starts extracting and installs fine. I'm sure the game is 64-bit .net game, since all dll files are 64-bit according to 'file' command, and it says mscoree.dll is wrong architecture. I'm assuming mono wouldn't work due to native dll.
Is 64-bit dotnet4.0 supported in wine64?
AppDB doesn't have any mention of 64-bit dotnet framework. There was one post about 64-bit dotnet3.5 which requires 32-bit dotnet2.0, but I'm thinking of dotnet4.0. Hopefully I don't have to go through 32-bit dotnet2.0 to install 64-bit dotnet4.0 or is that the case too for 4.0? Or does it even install 64-bit dotnet from 32-bit dotnet2.0?
.net (dotnet) framework 64-bit 4.0?
Re: .net (dotnet) framework 64-bit 4.0?
64 bit .NET doesn't work in Wine.
Re: .net (dotnet) framework 64-bit 4.0?
was wondering.. why is 64 bit .NET not being supported? and if there's a plan to support in the future?
I have an app that I wish to use in Linux, so here thinking should I wait or give up...

Re: .net (dotnet) framework 64-bit 4.0?
Wine is a volunteer project; developers work on whatever they want.
Re: .net (dotnet) framework 64-bit 4.0?
I see.. might be a really huge task, but I hope at least it's not impossible.. maybe in the future when more apps use 64 bit .NET and there are more demands, some developers will start working it.
Re: .net (dotnet) framework 64-bit 4.0?
Thanks Dox, I think it's useful. I have tried following the guide and learnt many things in the process. I am still new and learning about wine, and the app I want to use: Nvil, (http://samardac.com/nvil-forum/index.php/board,2.0.html) still not able to work properly, because it requires SlimDX and I failed to install SlimDX on wine64..
