About TmaxOS (LGPL viol?)

Post by perillamint »

Hello, I bring some news some OS called TmaxOS (proprietary OS).

It seems using modified FreeBSD kernel (readelf reports ELF_OSABI as FreeBSD one https://twitter.com/perillamint/status/ ... 5977720833) and WINE for W32 app compatibility (they have PE binary with WINE icon in their fakedlls https://twitter.com/perillamint/status/ ... 3494809600) (and *lots* of other FLOSS projects). But it seems they're trying to hide their FLOSS usage.

They are denying they used WINE for W32 compat layer and said they did it without using FLOSS one.

Maybe we should keep eye on them.

Additionally, according to their previous case https://www.reactos.org/forum/viewtopic ... &sk=t&sd=a, I worry about they may try to hide their license violation.

FYI, they're planning to release it in October, 2016.
