I think a +100 USD Nvidia GPU as the GTX 960 instead of the GTX 750 Ti will perform better with wine (0 USD) than with MS WOS (100 USD)
So a New machine with the same price with MS WOS plus a GTX 750 Ti will be worse for gaming than the same machine at the same price with GNU/Linux and wine, plus a 100 USD extra GPU as the GTX 960 or the same upgrade from intel integrated graphics to the 100 USD GTX 750 Ti.
I do not know it it will be the same with AMD cards but it is worth the try, benchmark wine with +100 USD GPUs vs MS WOS , and make some charts and perhaps a new trend in the hard gaming market, or at least a trending topic at GNu/Linux communities.
