Noob issues

HELLO EVERYONE!!!,,im rather new at WINE, and i have a couple of programs i would like to RUN with WINE, but i kinda don't understand if there is a specific way to install a program for it to run on wine,,or even running the program itself,,i tried Installing NATURAL MOTION ENDORPHIN and i click on the short cut to open with wine, the Title menu comes out but nothing after,,i also tried running GUITAR PRO and no luck,its obvious im doing something wrong,as i said im a nooby at this,so some patience and help id appreciate it,,thank you everyone!!!

User manual, FAQ and Application DB will answer such questions.

Doubleclicking on the app should do it.
If it doesn't, probably Wine doesn't support the
app yet.

No; it's more likely that Wine doesn't support those apps yet.
You should check http://appdb.winehq.org for tips whenever
you try a new app.

says that your first app needs msvcp60.dll. The best way to get this is
to download and run http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks and use
it to install vcrun6.

HI thanks alot for the reply,,the only thing is how to run the KEGEL Wine Tricks,that page has bunch of codes and stuff, i have no idea what to do or look for,,im Nooby sorry,and just to be sure,so i install any app and if Wine supports it it should just run fine with no problems huh?

HUH what?

Have you read the Application database? If not - that should be your first stop. If you don't get something - then don't use it. What's the problem?

I will add instructions to the top of that file to be clearer,
something like this:
Save this file as 'winetricks' in your home directory,
Then mark it executable (right click, properties, permissions, check execute)
Then doubleclick it to run it.
Check 'vcrun6' and 'ok'.

any app and if Wine supports it it should just run fine with no problems huh?

Ideally, yes. But Wine only supports a few applications
yet. Many applications need special effort to run
with Wine, or don't run at all yet. See http://appdb.winehq.org
for details on the particular app you want to run.

HI Again, and Yes VITAMIN i did read the Database several times,,my problem is trying to run specific programs,which i know WINE can run them,there just not the average ones that work of the bat.

By The Way Dan i already saved the File and did all of that, what next?

If you already did
Save this file as 'winetricks' in your home directory,

then you should try NATURAL MOTION ENDORPHIN again...

If you still have trouble, look again at the appdb entry for the game.

If you still can't get it to work, you should probably give up.
