I wanted to install dirt 3 and followed the instructions here. https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. ... &iId=25897 But I do not know how to install the manual patch of wine. I should also say that it gets stuck at the dirt 3 logo at the start. I used a third party xlive.dll but is there one I should use? Lastly I could not find a d3d9_36.dll only a d3dx9_36.dll. Even if I make the d3dx9_36 native it still crashes.

The AppDB instructions are old. You shouldn't need to patch Wine if you are using the current development release. The bug the patch was needed for was fixed 6 months ago.
