Desktop icons arrows

Desktop icons linked to wine supported exe files all have a small white arrow in a black rectangle in the bottom right hand corner. Similar arrows on Windows icons can be removed by deleting isshortcut keys in the registry. This doesn't work in te wine registry. Is there a way?
