Quicken 2011 install

Post by Ghost63368 »

This is what I have found to work for Quicken 2011. First install wine from the command line. Use the latest version as this ensures that you get all of the tricks needed.
Second Install a front end. It is a bad Idea not to install the front end as how are you going to work with Windows? The Programs will install just fine however you will not have a desktop which is necessary for most windows programs.
Having done all of this I did the following.
In a terminal window type the following;
winetricks dotnet20
winetricks ie8(9 or current IE)
winetricks msls31
winetricks gdiplus
after winetricks completes close the terminal.

go to wine configure and do the following;
-qw.exe opens as Windows 7
-in library tab
Override box type msls31
go to edit and ensure it is marked native, builtin.

Install Quicken 2011, and open it to register the program. Close it down after registration.
Run a registry cleaner to clean up all the left-over stuff from installs and Quicken runs. So far I have found no problems with Quicken 2011 Premier Edition. I get updates and can connect to Quicken with no problems. :D
