E-volved Cultures screensaver

Post by keantoken »

Hello all.

The best screensaver of all time in my opinion is E-volved cultures, available here:

http://www.xs4all.nl/~notnot/E-volverLU ... saver.html

Not only are the images it creates highly aesthetic, but they can seamlessly tile, so they are perfect for many applications. My current desktop was generated by this screensaver.

I've tried everything though and it won't show up. I suspect this is a problem outside of WINE. The screen will freeze as if it wants to do something, but then nothing will happen until I move the mouse and the screen refreshes, and the program quits. The terminal doesn't report any errors.

Can I make it work?

Thanks,

No. Xorg's screen saver works in a different way. Also Wine does not implement everything required for the screen saver to run.

What about this page then?

And there are other screensavers in the appdb.

Things in Wine window management changed a lot since then.
