Wine 9 winecfg changes my drive letter assignments
winecfg adds all partitions and replaces my assigned drive letters to folders, etc. This causes software installed in .wine to fail. How can I keep my assignments. The rest I don't care about.

Apologies for the very late reply. I was under the mistaken assumption that email address change is not possible without administration involvement.

Requesting deletion of an old account. . .
This newly created account was necessary because my old gmail account was hacked and I asked Google to delete it. You would know best what to do, and you know how to contact me securely, if needed.

windows apps' functions degrade after a few minutes
I am relying on two Windows apps in wine, TexpPad 8 and Irfanview v4.60 64bit. Their features degrade after a few minutes of use. All Linux keyboard shortcuts are disabled, and no Linux apps are active. The apps' features work well in the first few minutes, and then they selectively fail and I suspe...

Changing to 32bit apps in Wine 64
Installed Wine 5 in Linux Mint 20.0 Cinnamon and it's a pleasure to work with. I use it for two Windows apps, Irfanview and TextPad 8, both 64bit versions. When using either app continuously for a period of time, they freeze the keyboard. I am able to close the app with the mouse. Would changing the...

Notepad++ only opens files in the $HOME folder
With snap I installed Notepad++ in Linux Mint Cinnamon 20, and it's working very well, but won't open files anywhere except in the $HOME folder. Not in direct subfolders, or symlinked folders. Added the following code, but it doesn't help.
Code: Select all
sudo snap connect notepad-plus-plus:removable-media

Re: Irfanview in Wine cannot open graphics files
@jkfloris, unfortunately, I am still unable to open any graphic file. When I click an image to open with Irfanview by the context menu, it fails. But, when I search and open a file in the Irfanview file browser, it works. I assume that there is a file missing?
