Re: winmx won't connect to the internet
I personally won't go further than that as I noted winmx looks like it might be for sharing songs, videos, etc., which may not be legal depending on the file. If you're worried about forum rules, file-sharing apps are not illegal in and of themselves. As you note, it depends on what is shared. So d...

Re: Why is my contribution refused?
The old test reports in the AppDB were accepted at the time those versions were current. They are kept for historical reasons.
The WineHQ home page does list the current stable and development release versions.

Re: Wine-Staging 6.5 won't install
FYI, the rebuild on the OBS has completed, with matching build numbers. If you don't want to wait for the packages to be synced over here, you can get them from https://download.opensuse.org/repositor ... Fedora_33/

Re: Why is my contribution refused?
You already know why it was refused: we do not accept test reports for obsolete versions of Wine. Selecting a wrong version and stating the correct version in a comment is not an acceptable workaround because the table of test reports and the search tools rely on the version actually selected and wi...

Re: Wine-Staging 6.5 won't install
Looks like the build numbers are mismatched--1.2 for the x86_64 packages vs. 2.1 for the i686 part. That part of the package number is automatically incremented by the OBS. I've triggered a rebuild of both i586 and x86_64 packages, and hopefully that will fix it.

Re: Issue when installing Wine
Which version of Ubuntu are you on? Your /etc/apt/sources.list has repositories for xenial, bionic, and focal. In addition, even if you are on focal, the repository that is throwing the error is not the WineHQ repository: E: The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-wine/ppa/ubuntu focal Relea...

Re: msado15 problem in Wine 5, was working in Wine 4
To reply to myself: Wine 5 is old too, I have upgraded to openSUSE LEAP 15.3 BETA, with Wine 6, and everything works "out of the box", without any winetricks. Problem solved. Glad you were able to solve it. FYI, for future reference, on openSUSE you can get the latest version of Wine for current ve...

Re: wget of key fail with 404 error
It shouldn't; the file is there. Perhaps you mistyped the path.
You could try downloading it through your browser. https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/winehq.key

Re: MadEdit fails to launch as normal user (works as Root) when using English locale
Works fine for me in a clean wineprefix in Wine 6.3, in both locales. You could try upgrading, but it sounds like you messed up the permissions in your wineprefix by running something as root or sudo; that's one reason you should never do that. https://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#Should_I_run_Wine_as_root.3F

Re: Add repository
Sorry, no. I don't like the way you've separated the distro versions from the commands, and I don't think it will make it easier for users to figure out which one to add.

Re: AppDB: Review rejected, updated by user, can't accept now
Yes, tests have to be resubmitted after they are edited; users often don't realize that. I found a test for Gothic II in the rejected queue and sent the user a message through the AppDB that he needs to resubmit it in order for it to be processed. I did not accept it myself because the user mention ...

Re: 20.04 Wine Dependencies and Broken packages problem
Apt will tell you in the error message what is missing for the package you are trying to install. The error message you posted says wine-stable is missing. You said you tried to install it, and got an error message--what did it say? Try to install whatever package that error message calls for. You w...

That might work well for advanced users, but for inexperienced users seems overly long and complicated.
