Re: Running Wine as OSX app and file permissions

By wrapper I meant an OSX application bundle. I therefore created an application called notepad.app. The idea was to create a native OSX 'application' that would simply run Wine's version of Notepad. In it, I placed the 64 bit Wine binaries that I compiled and built from the Wine source (so I am not...

Running Wine as OSX app and file permissions

I've created a notepad.app wrapper which runs the notepad application included with Wine. If I run Wine from the Terminal (ex. 'wine64 notepad'), everything works fine. But if I click/run my notepad.app from the Finder window, I don't see any files on my system when using the common file Open dialog...

Re: "services.c: scmdatabase" wait timed out...

I was building the development branch. I am now building the stable branch. Hopefully this will fix my issue but there may still be an issue with the devel branch.

I will post back what I find.

"services.c: scmdatabase" wait timed out...

I have downloaded the Wine source and built it to create the Wine binaries. The code has not been altered. When I use these binaries however I continue to receive error message 000f:err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x14510 "services.c: scmdatabase" wait timed out in thread 000f, blocked ...

Customizing Menus

Is it possible to add menu items to the OSX menu bar?

If it is, how would do I handle the communication between the OSX (when item is clicked) and my Windows application?

I'm trying to build a custom engine under Winery 1.3 on OSX 10.5 and I'm getting the same error that doh123 reported originally. Doh123, I noticed you released WS8Wine-1.3.33 which works on OSX 10.5. How did you get this to compile? Did you compile on 10.5? I can compile 1.3.33 using Winery 1.3 on 1...

I have not tried xquartz.app. Is there such a thing? See below. I don't have ~/ .xinitrc. The stock xinitrc in /usr/X11 is telling to start the 3 xterms and xclock. My other computer which does not have the problem has the same xinitrc. What this means is there is some other setup file instructing X...

X11 help on OS X 10.6

I know this is an X11 question but the only time I use X11 is via Wine. I dont know what happened but now whenever I start x11.app (this includes any wine apps) I always get 3 xterms and xclock starts. I know the reason for the 3 xterms and xclock. /usr/X11/lib/X11/xinitrc has instructions to do so....

.lnk files

On some wine builds when I open and closed a file from within my app, Wine creates .lnk shortcut files for the opened files. Why does wine create them and how do I tell Wine not to create them?

Locating .tff or .fon file for fonts in C:\Windows\Font

Normally each font has entry in the registry under HKLM\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\Fonts whereby the registry Name is the font name and the registry Data value is the filename of the font (for example courier.ttf). In my app I use the facename from the LOGFONT structure and th...

Using all cores during compile

Is there anyway to use all 4 cores on my quad core during compilation? It appears I am only using 1 core. I am hoping there is a flag I can pass to the makefile. Alternatively, I could probably break the makefile in four different makefiles for compiling and a separate makefile for linking. From the...

Thanks everyone for you help. Setting

DYLD_FALLBACK_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/X11/lib:/usr/lib"

fixed the problem. I am now able to perform my regression testing.

Problem with visual studio feature pack

This used to be fine in Wine 1.3.18. At which exact version did it stopped working I am not sure. I know it hasnt worked from 1.3.22 to 1.3.26. The problem is when using the MS Visual studio feature pack, menus are being displayed as framed windows instead of a frameless window giving the illusion o...

Of course you can't. You can not mix synchronization operations of Wine and native system. It won't ever work properly.

I was afraid of that but thanks for the answer.
