Hi,
First of all I am using Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) with Wine installed.
I was wondering if anyone has tried this program called Paltalk. It is a voice chat program/client. They do provide a web/flash version but it is not the same as the application that is available on Windows.
Initially I couldnt install it using wine, so I read somewhere that I had to install IE4Linux and MSN messenger then install Paltalk.
I did that and it installed itself just fine, however, it crashes rather often (more like every 30 seconds).
I was wondering if anyone else has managed to install it without any problems and could possibly guide me on how/what to do.
Many thanks for the positive responses in advance

Just to let you know, it worked for me following your advice. However, there was a problem and that is whenever somone displays one of the origional "emoticons" such as "Smile" it would crash.
So I went to one of the chat rooms and disabled the option to show emoticons. This solved my problem.
However from time to time every so very long I paltalk crashed, but I have yet to see why it is.
I only replied here so that if anyone else wants to try it, then they can just read the post and know the problems and how to fix it.
Thanks once again

Use winetricks to install IE. http://wiki.winehq.org/winetrickssonanski wrote:Okay, I've read those posts but they do not explain HOW to install IE, or which version I should install.
Can someone post directions, or a link, that clear demonstrates how this is done?
As to which version, try IE6 or IE7. IE8 doesn't work.
